Welcome to the team – Dr Chris Stafford

We are very thrilled to welcome Dr, Chris Stafford MFGDP(UK) Royal College of Surgeons of England 2007 – BDS University of Glasgow 2004 to our Dental Studio team.

Dr Stafford is based at our Chichester site, providing excellent care and support alongside our highly qualified, talented and experienced team of dental professionals.

Dr. Stafford has a wealth of knowledge and a wide range of experience, passionate as we all are about patient care. During his career, he has taken many postgraduate courses both in the U.K. and abroad. Highlights of this training include a Master of Science degree in Clinical Oral Implantology, a certificate in Cosmetic and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry, and a diploma of Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK), which at the time was part of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is currently enrolled on the Kois Center prosthodontic continuum in Seattle, USA.

Due to the addition of Dr Stafford to the team, excitingly we are now in a position to accept new private patients on a first come first served basis so if you have family and friends that are looking to join a dental practice please do not hesitate to let them know we are here for them. If they mention your name when they contact us, once they book and attend their first appointment you will be eligible to receive a voucher from us as a small token of our appreciation to you.

We are here to look after all of your dental needs, including general care and maintenance as well as more complex treatments like Invisalign, composite bonding, Implants, cosmetic and facial aesthetics.  Please contact our team to find out more or to book your next appointment.

Christmas Reflection

As we head towards the festive season, we’d like to sincerely thank you all for your continuing support. We have truly appreciated this from each and every one of you.

What a busy year it has been, rewarding and challenging at times for all of us, in one way or another. As a team we always like to take time to reflect on the past year and then look forward to making plans and improvements for 2023.

This year, we have:

  • Celebrated 24 years of improving the dental health of our patients
  • Launched our beautiful Invisalign Patient Zone. The first in Hampshire
  • Ensured our team are continually training to keep up their knowledge, awareness, and skills
  • Proudly celebrated our team successes as below:
    • Dr Usha Ramjas being awarded the prestigious ‘Diamond Apex Status’ as an Expert Invisalign Provider [In the top 1% of providers in Europe]
    • Emma Fletcher, our Hygienist being nominated and commended in two Dental Industry Awards
    • Annette Batchford, our Dental Nurse for her long service, being with us for over 20 years
    • Terri Colwell, our Apprentice, completing her training assessments and now working towards gaining her Dental Nurse Qualification [Also passed her driving test!]
    • Amanda Hudson, our Reception Manager has successfully completed her Invisalign journey [Remember the Buzz! It is still going]
    • Laura Calafate and Najwa Alkasab for gaining their GDC registration status to undertake Dental Hygienist services

There have been so many personal success stories from some of you too, our lovely patients, from amazing fund-raising events, publishing books, opening new businesses, births, weddings and new jobs. We love that you share this with us.

Please make sure you join us in taking time to reflect on your own achievements, however big or small, it is so very important to ‘stop and smell the roses’ as the saying goes.

We want to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and every success and happiness for 2023.

‘The Road from Karachi’

Introduction

We wanted to introduce you to our wonderful patient, Nadia and her current mission which is simply fantastic.  

Nadia visited Dr Usha Ramjas at Dental Studio recently, telling us all about her mission and project, including the background story to the cookbook that her mother and father created in the1980s, when they came to the UK where they ran a successful Indian cookery school in Portsmouth.

The Project

The project is to install 100 water pumps in 300 days! This will greatly help those in need with a clean water supply in India, Africa, and Pakistan. As well as supplying water directly to a school in Kenya.

Dr Usha Ramjas has already committed to sponsoring a pump which will be placed in India. Dental Studio will also be supporting with a donation box on site and encouraging our lovely patients and visitors to support Nadia too.

I have already purchased the cookbook for my husband [Chef in the making], which is an excellent Christmas present for both him and I. Of course, I will be his sous and tasting chef.

Nadia, On behalf of Dr Usha Ramjas and the whole team here at Dental Studio, we wish you every success. We are proud to support you. I will certainly let you know how the cooking goes!

Amanda is nearly there!

Amanda, as you all know is our very own ‘celebrity’ has now reached week 26 and wearing aligner tray 13 of her Invisalign Journey.

You can really see the difference with the changes which are quite significant, I am sure you will agree.

Amanda says she receives so many lovely comments from her family and friends which boosts her confidence no end. The difference is really evident now in photos too.  The changes have greatly helped with managing her oral health care too, flossing and using ID brushes are also so much easier to manage, which is another great aspect of having Invisalign treatment.

Amandas’ review appointment for the ‘Debond’ treatment is due in May, so just six weeks away from finishing her Invisalign journey. We cannot wait to see the final results and celebrate her journey as a team.

Celebrating Dr Usha Ramjas and our Invisalign Patient Zone

We would like to announce that our very own Dr Usha Ramjas has recently been awarded ‘Diamond Apex Status’ by Invisalign. We, as a team are incredibly proud and Usha has now reached the highest status in this field, that can be achieved. Usha belongs to a very select group of dentists, now in the top 1% of providers in Europe who have demonstrated their expertise in align therapy which is so important for patients when choosing this type of treatment, to be sure they receive treatment from an expert in their field.

We will also be hosting a few  ‘Smile Day Events’ this year and making good use of our new ‘Invisalign Patient Zone’ so do follow us on our Instagram and Facebook accounts for updates.

We will be the first practice in Hampshire to introduce this patient interactive zone so you can understand our excitement. National Dentist’s Day – Team Appreciation

To celebrate International Dentist Day on Sunday 6th March, we would like to appreciate every member of our amazing team, led by our very special Dr Usha Ramjas & Dr Neresh Behari. Each and every one of them contributes something unique and amazing to us as a whole!

The last couple of years has been incredibly tough and challenging for us all worldwide.  The impact on our industry has been significant, some have lost their business, their jobs, some could not take the pressure anymore and even changed their career path, we have had to embrace numerous changes and restrictions, however, from the start of the pandemic our team mission was to shield our patients as far as possible from the behind the scene issues and aim to work together to continue to provide our highest standard of care, create beautiful smiles and a wide range of services to our patients. We could not have done this without our full team committing to this and standing by our side.

There have been so many challenges and changes to face but together we have embraced it all, talked it through, sometimes cried (we are human) but mostly we have uplifted each other daily and laughed our way through and now we are coming out the other side, with so many exciting things and developments to look forward too. This team is literally outstanding and I for one could not be prouder to work by their side.

To our amazing team, colleagues in the industry, laboratory teams, suppliers, agency teams, support staff, and our understanding, supportive, loyal patients who genuinely become friends,  this day is for all of us. We thank you and appreciate each and every one of you for everything. ❤️

Amanda’s Invisalign Journey Update

Amanda’s Invisalign Journey Week 19 Aligner 10 Week 1

 

Amanda is now well over the halfway point on her Invisalign journey and is still incredibly excited to see and feel the changes that are now becoming visible to achieve her perfect smile.

Wearing her aligners has become an easy part of everyday life now and in fact, it feels odder to not have them in.

It has been so lovely for our patients to speak directly to Amanda who can answer any queries they may have either during their own journey or just enquiring. It is always good to speak to someone who has firsthand experience of treatment.

Amanda is still our resident ‘Super Star Celebrity’ at the practice and we all cannot wait to see her final results and showcase these to you all.

Amanda’s Top Tip: We are now stocking a new product to keep aligners in tip-top condition and stain-free, Amanda highly recommends this product and is happy to answer any queries you may have, it keeps her aligners looking brand new for the whole two weeks she wears them!

Amanda’s Invisalign journey

The exciting journey for Amanda continues and she is now wearing Aligner number 5 and on week 9 of her Invisalign journey.

Amanda is now beginning to really notice the changes and after seeing family at the weekend, they too can see the difference this treatment is beginning to make and it is still early days. So the excitement and anticipation for the final result continue.

Even outside of work Amanda recently had a wonderful afternoon with her ‘bestie’ Jason, (best friend for those of us above a certain age! ) where they spent most of their time comparing their Invisalign journeys’ (Jason is having treatment with us too) and discussing their experience. In between lunch, drinks, and cinema of course.

Amanda still feels that wearing and changing the aligners is still so easy and manageable, even in her front of house reception role,  you honestly become so comfortable with them it becomes second nature.

Amanda’s top tip: You can still enjoy your occasional red wine and tea just take out your aligners before.

We will of course keep you updated and as always do not hesitate to ask us (or Amanda) any questions at all.

Amanda’s Invisalign Journey Week 5

We are now at Week 5, Aligner 3 of Amanda’s Invisalign journey and I am very pleased to report so far so good for our lovely receptionist, Amanda.

The wearing of the aligners is so easy, even the change from Aligner 2 to 3 seemed to be far more comfortable and no pain relief was needed on this occasion.

It still makes Amanda laugh that her family and friends still do not notice the aligners and even after visiting both Nans’ recently, Amanda had to physically show them and then proudly explain the treatment to them. They were amazed, to say the least, and cannot wait to see the end results.

Top tip: When removing the aligners there is a little knack to do this, start at the back of the aligner and work your way around. It can at first feel a little nerve-wracking as Amanda did not want to break the aligner but she is managing this perfectly now.

Our lovely patients are still asking Amanda lot’s of questions and discussing their own experience with her and the team so the ‘Buzz’ is real!

Amanda has now become the practice ‘celebrity’ (she literally loves this! ) after so many patients are telling her that they are seeing her updates on our Instagram and Facebook accounts, so please do ‘share’, ‘like’, and ‘follow us’.

Together let’s spread the word for this fantastic treatment and help others on their own journey to improve their smile.

Making us smile

At Dental Studio, we always give our patients a courtesy call the following day after they have had treatment with us to make sure all is ok for them. The feedback from our lovely patient Aiden today was so lovely we just had to share:

“ My appointment was brilliant, Emmanouil is such an incredible guy, I used to be so nervous about the dentist and Emmanouil has changed this, so I am not nervous anymore, I couldn’t thank him enough. The reception team are also amazing as is and everyone there.”

Feedback like this is truly what makes us, as a team tick, it is so very much appreciated and makes us all so proud knowing the impact we can all have with our patients, whether it is an amazing smile transformation or simply encouraging and supporting our patients to attend for regular dental visits, particularly if they are nervous like Aiden.
