Is the brace invisible?
Yes! The braces are fitted behind the teeth, so nobody but you will know they’re there.

Is there any food I should avoid eating during the treatment process?
Your diet should be healthy, and we advise that you avoid sugary foods and tough, crunchy food items that could cause damage to the brace.

Why is treatment so quick?
These braces are not designed to treat your bite – this can take up to two years. Instead, Secret Smile braces focus on improving your smile, which is why the treatment process is so quick.

Will my teeth stay straight after treatment?
As is the case with all orthodontic treatment, we recommend that you wear a retainer afterwards in order to make sure that the teeth don’t move back to their original position.

Will it hurt?
The process of fitting the brace is entirely pain-free. However, it is not unusual to feel slight discomfort for a day or two following the fitting as your mouth gets used to the brace. In the initial stages, some patients find that the brackets cause irritation on the tongue, but this shouldn’t be a problem as we will provide you with a comfort guard to be worn over the brace. This will protect the tongue from discomfort.

Will my speech be affected during treatment?
Some patients find that they lisp in the initial stages as their mouth gets used to the brace, but this only lasts for a couple of days and in most cases people adapt quickly and easily.
